What is Crestview Commons?
Crestview Commons (CC) is a volunteer service organization that helps residents with neighborhood improvement projects by sponsoring applications, delivering organizing resources, and building community support. CC is an officially registered neighborhood association in the City of Austin representing Crestview area residents, and was formally established in late 2015 to help folks who have a project idea get the support they need to transform their idea into reality.
Who is Crestview Commons?
CC is made up of Crestview area residents who have registered with Crestview Commons.
Why is there a Crestview Commons?
Crestview sits at the heart of one of the fastest growing areas of the city and can play a pivotal role in influencing zoning, transportation, housing, and quality of life improvements. CC provides a clear and proactive voice for the Crestview community – one that seeks to work constructively with Crestview residents as well as other neighborhood associations and the city administration. CC seeks to actively work with and engage area development in and around the Crestview area.
How does Crestview Commons work?
CC has bylaws, an executive council, and uses secure, anonymous online voting to gather consensus and make group decisions when necessary. CC does not have a membership fee. It does not hold regular meetings outside of project specific working groups that are organized by volunteers. The CC website serves as a place to share various ideas, opinions, and information in a thoughtful, articulate, and informed manner.
